A COAD is a national model that calls for a collaborative network of organizations, businesses, and local government entities working together to enhance community resilience and response in times of disaster. Encouraged by both FEMA and IEMA, COAD’s play the crucial role of coordinating emergency human services at the very basic community level. Support from organizations you trust

Within a COAD, stakeholder agencies and organizations may include, but are not limited to:

  • Local emergency management and other governmental agencies
  • Non-governmental community organizations
  • Faith-based organizations,
  • And public, private, or not-for-profit organizations with a common interest of addressing a community’s needs as a result of an emergency or disaster.
